What to expect at Moco Museum

Moco Museum brings modern and contemporary art together with digital, immersive and street art in Villa Alsberg, a historic building on Museumplein. The museum opened in 2016.

Allow around 60 minutes for a visit, or an hour and a half if you want a more relaxed tour. Moco recommends bringing headphones for its free audio tour.

Keep access in mind when planning. The villa’s stairs and lack of lifts mean wheelchair users cannot access the Amsterdam museum, and mobility scooters cannot be accommodated.

Strollers are not allowed inside, though you can ask a crew member about parking one in the garden. Dogs are not permitted, except registered service dogs wearing a suitable harness. Children under 16 need adult supervision.

Tickets and opening hours

Tickets and opening hours

Moco Museum is open daily, with opening hours between 09:00–19:00 and 09:00–20:00 depending on the date. The Amsterdam homepage lists 09:00–20:00 every day, while hours can vary on the visit page; check the official site before you go.

The online shop lists Amsterdam Flex tickets at €26.95 for adults, €23.95 for ages 7–17 and €0.00 for ages 0–6; the Student Flex ticket is €23.95. Flex tickets allow entry at any time during operating hours. Priority tickets also allow entry at any time on the booked day and skip the line.

Standard timed tickets guarantee entry at the start of the booked slot, with a five-minute entry margin. Arriving at another time may mean immediate entry cannot be guaranteed.

You can buy tickets online or at the entrance; the museum recommends booking online, and tickets bought through its website can have their date and time changed up to the day of the visit. Purchased tickets are non-refundable. Admission covers all exhibitions unless stated otherwise.

Museumkaart is not valid at Moco because it is privately owned, but the museum offers a 30% ticket discount online and at the door. Moco cannot store luggage; its practical information points to a luggage-storage service on Museumplein, 125 metres from the museum.
